Which way do you turn a cub cadet blade to get them off?

I have a cub cadet 22hp intek bergs and straton tractor. My blades need to be replace or sharpened. I went to take the blades off and they wouldn't come off. Three of us all tried and we just can't get them off. I think one reason we can't get it off is because we don't know which way to turn. I can't find the Owners Manual.
