Is it ok to tie the garage sale sign on a lamp post?
Hello..I would like to have garage sale this weekend and I was wondering if it is ok to tie the garage sale sign cards to the lamp posts or the stop signs on the street? Someone said that it is illegal and I want to make sure. Please let me know.
Technically, it is illegal because streetlight posts are in the public right-of-way, not on your property. But it's commonly done - no one is going to haul you away to jail. Just do the right thing and remove it when your sale is done.
