It is lighter in weight than a gasoline mower, since it has no battery, which is an advantage for its owner. I think the deck is not held up right. Anyone know how the mowing deck is hung onto the frame?
there is a way to adjust you mowing deck to level it out...you need to read your Owners Manual for the information...some mowers have this information on them

The Hidden Beauty of Solar Garden Lighting
Recently I was doing some research on solar landscaping lighting products to purchase for my yard. I found a whole new world of Solar Lighting products out there, and a great way to use Solar Power Yard Lights to decorate my yard and keep it safe at the same time.
I found that the more LED's (light emitting diode) that the solar Outdoor Garden lights came with, then the brighter they will be. I found Solar Garden lighting made for multiple applications, and made out of many different types of materials. I was amazed at just how far Solar Lights had actually come.
I found Plastic Solar lights, Stainless Steel solar lights, solar garden gnomes, solar fairies, Solar Lamp post lights, outdoor Water Pump, solar shed lights, solar lanterns, Path Solar lights. Suddenly I found myself engulfed in information overload!
Whoa! I had to step back, slow down, and let all this information get absorbed. Then I think I finally had it all figured out. All I needed to do is to purchase the Solar Landscape lights I wanted with the most LED's to be the brightest, and since they are going to be outside I would like to use stainless Steel Solar lights, or plastic solar lights as much as possible.
Well I made my purchase and I got my solar lights. I don't think I could be any happier with it either. Everything in the yard and garden is accented so nicely. All our friends and family say it's so beautiful, and how much did it cost me. They still haven't seen the real hidden beauty of solar garden lighting. I tell them the way that I see it. Since I am not paying anything to the electric company to light my solar lights and keep my place safe and beautiful each night. Then the real hidden beauty of solar garden lighting is that in the long run it pays for itself and is free!

Yes, easy to start, no prime.
It stops working just 5 minutes after the first start. The reason is that this mower can hardly discharge the cut grass and the cut grass just got collected in the cutting chamber and finally smother the engine.
OK, let's install the Rear Bag to collect the grass.
No luck, the rear bag angle is so stupidly designed that the grass won't enter the bag.
Finally after I carefully read the manual I realized only if you register this mower online, they will send you a side dicharge chute for free.
After about one week, the chute came and got installed. Now I feel this is the best ever mower I have ever bought.
Good Lawn Mower for Small Yards
Purchased this Lawn-Boy with some reluctance since the one I owned years ago lasted only a few years and never cut well. The wheels were awkward too witht e the offset to accomodate the side chute. However... thus far, the new mower has been a joy to use. It mulches the leaves well, as I am surrounded by maples, ash and oaks. The noise is not bad and the steering is very easy. Starting is with one easy pull. I have a small yard so there was no need to buy a Self Propelled, thought it would be good exercise pushing it around too. If I had a large amount of property - touch up around trees and bushes would be a good use for this mower. Havent't tried the bag or the side chute; you have to send in for the free attachment chute, but it only takes a few weeks to arrive. Because we mulch in this city - bagging is not done much anymore, the trash man doesn't pick up grass clippings and composting is just too "green" for me. Leaves, once mulched up, along with the grass clippings and some 12-12-12 work wonders for the lawn. Grass look great. The cut is even and and can't tell where all the clippings go. The mower has gone thru some thicker parts of the lawn, where my old Sears Honda 6.5 mulcher would stall, and the Lawn-Boy doesn't miss a beat.
The price at $260 was considerably less then what I paid 8 years ago for the Sears and it works as well if not better. Some foks complained about the odd oil capacity of 20 ounces and measuring was a problem, or the side chute had to be ordered - neither are really that big of deals - the mower is cost effective, does what it is designed to do, and start easy and is not too much of a gas hog. Ordering in the fall is a great idea since the cost is lower. The other thing that is nice is the blades, Air Filter, and accessories are at the local hardware store. Lawn-Boy is somewhat a popular brand. Consumer Report picked this one correctly. Amazon had delivered this mower in less than 10 days and while the box was beat up a bit, the mower was in brand-new shape.

briggs and stratton wont run?
i have a old briggs and stratton motor on my noma lawn mower,it starts but wont stay running if i release the choke,also if i pput the air filter or just the screw in it shuts off,is it the diagphram or something else?
no primer on this model,,just a choke,,,
sounds like carburetor problems.take it off and try cleaning it.also you may want to try and start it on a lower setting if you have it and let it warm up for while.mine does the same thing when i try and start it on high setting.also if it starts to die try pushing the primer in to see if that will keep it running.

When it comes to wooden outdoor furniture, there is a vast variety of woods to choose from. There's also a vast difference in quality between the types of woods. If you're getting wooden pieces, you can use the guide below to help you make the right choice for your needs.
5 star: Teak, Balau, and Ipe
Teak has traditionally been the best choice for durable high quality outdoor furniture wood. The problem is that teak has been over-forested due to high demand and now is on the endangered species list. This has led to teak prices going through the roof. Today, hybrid teak is grown on plantations but here's the catch. This modified teak has less resin and natural oil than the old teak and thus results in a lighter, weaker wood that is less weatherproof.
Balau is much better than teak for patio furniture. Although not as popular, Balau is very dense with rich resins and tropical oils. Mechanically, it is about twice as strong as teak (working stresses greater than 1 ton per square inch according to the Malaysian TImber Industry Board). Historically, Balau has been used for shipbuilding and other heavy construction. The wood is very fine and even in texture and can weather well like teak. What's great too is that Balau is not on the endangered list and this has made it cheaper to buy than teak. The foresting of Balau is managed well. Let's hope everyone learned the lesson the first time from over-foresting teak so that Balau doesn't meet the same fate.

Ipe is the clear winner for weatherproof outdoor furniture. Ipe is 3 times harder and 40% heavier than teak. Traditional it is used for decking and has been used for many famous boardwalks like in Miami Beach and Atlantic City. Untreated Ipe can withstand termites more than 15 years. Untreated Ipe can last outdoors for over 40 years before it starts to show wear. It can last over 100 years if it's treated !
Ipe is used for more than just decking. There's Ipe furniture out there on the market too. The high quality of this wood, of course, comes at a high price. Working with Ipe can really wear your tools down due to its strength. (boo hoo) Finally, it comes from South America and there are concerns of it being over-forested in the Amazon rainforest. Hopefully, the powers in charge can get a handle on this to make sure Ipe is forested properly and not let it get on the endangered list.
So, Ipe gets the gold medal, Balau gets the silver, and Teak gets the bronze.
4 star: Eucalyptus and Jarrah
Eucalyptus mainly comes from South America and has been traditionally a good wood to use. You have to be careful though because shipments often now have quality control issues because lesser quality wood is getting mixed in.
Jarrah is basically Eucalyptus from Western Australia. It has great durability and has a rich reddish brown color.
3 star: Cedar (Red and White), Keruing, Kempas, Cypress
Cedar - It's great for repelling bugs but it's a softwood and not too weatherproof. Still, it has a rustic look to it that gives you a classic Americana feel. If you seal it well, Cedar can be a good choice for your backyard.
Keruing - This is an evergreen with straight shallow interlocking grains. It's comes pinkish brown to darkish brown.
Kempas - This is from Southeast Asia and is commonly used for flooring.
Cypress - This wood produces cypressene oil that naturally preserves itself so you don't have to use harsh chemical sealants on it. It's has great bug and fungus resistance. The only drawback is that Cypress is softwood and is not as durable as the top of the line woods.
2 star: Pine, Nyatoh (Asian Pine), Lenga, Jatoba, Rubberwood
These are your economic softer woods that don't weather as well over the long run. Pine is very popular but remember, you get what you pay for.
1 star: Solid or Composite Hardwood
Hardwood may be okay for indoor pieces but please don't use it outdoors. It just won't last. Don't even go there.

Table lamps are the gift of our ancestors as they were popular in the nineteenth century and the essence of the same we can still feel in today's genre. The uniqueness of these reverse painted table lamps lie in the fact that the painting on these lamps gives the impression as if they are inscribed on the reverse side. They are generally handmade and are deemed as artifacts in themselves. They are exotically unique and are bit costly too if we compare them with other antiques.
The most popular among the types are 'The Pairpoint Apple Tree' with a value of $45,000. These lamps often have designs of landscapes, all painted by hand inside the glass shade blank. This paint was then done onto the glass. The most famous Table Lamp among the reverse painted lamps was 'The Pairpoint Puffy' which was a very precious lamp with the flowers being puffed outwards.
The most beautiful among today's reverse painted lamps I have seen is Parrish Reveries, elucidating the spirit of Parrish with the hand painted landscape shade in autumnal rich and violet lilac colors. Maxfield Parrish (1870-1966) was the man behind to give this style. However, the first person to originally create reverse painted table lamp was Philip Julius Handel who set up his company in Meriden, Connecticut in 1876. They were creating highly beautiful and quality and expensive table lamps. For next few years, they were very successful, however the great depression changed everything, and companies had to stop production completely in 1936 yet their created designs continued to leave the impression of exoticness and quality even centuries ahead. These lamps were much cheaper than the Tiffany lamps of Louis Comfort Tiffany. The materials used at the base of these reverse painted lamps were zinc alloy, spelter with a Bronze Patina or finish. Some of these bases were also made of bronze. Their company name was marked at the bottom of the base with their markings in raised letters or just labeled. Sometimes these marking were placed just below the base or on many occasions at the top. Along with the reverse painted lamps, they were also making vases, humidor boxes and other decorative objects. Most of the large Handel lamp bases have wires with many sockets with the pull chains having small sized pull balls just at the end of the chain.

What color do I paint my front door?
I painted my home a light sage green with a lighter green trim. The house is stucco. I landscaped with deep green to yellow and orange foliage. I am thinking about fauxing some house letters to look like they are made from copper (maybe patina) or bronze. What colors could I paint my fron door? I really like black front doors, but I don't think that would fit. I thought about fauxing it to an original darker wood? But then I would have to do the garage door... I'm stumped. A darker green would be too much, right? Help! I need some curb appeal.
A dark red more geared to more the blue than orange.
