Square Sign Post – Flexible and Durable
Are you in the process of building a new facility for your business? Or, do you already own or manage a business, but are thinking of giving your parking area an upgrade? One of the most essential parts of an urban or rural parking situation is the proper use of parking signs. Regardless of whether you are trying to tell people they only have fifteen minutes when parked in front of the door, or that delivery drivers can only access the back docks during the early morning hours, you have to display the signs in a location where they are guaranteed to be seen. If you are thinking about installing new signs, a square sign post is your best bet.
If you’re not really the type of person that regularly has to install new signs and sign posts, you may not realize that there are different types of sign posts. But the truth is that the type of post you use will have a lot to do with the stability and durability of your post. If you operate a business in an urban area that frequently has changing parking rules, you probably don’t want to dig up your old signs and replace them with new posts every time the rules change. Using a square sign post makes it easy to add or switch out the signs without having to dig a new hole.
If you’ve never seen a square sign post before, you might have trouble imagining it in comparison to usual sign posts. With typical street and parking signs, you usually have a metal sign with holes drilled into the top and bottom. The post is typically a single piece of bent metal that has holes punched at frequent intervals from the top to the bottom. The posts are made this way so that the sign can be attached at any height along the pole. Usually the bottom of the pole is embedded in cement, and placed in the ground.
With a square sign post, you would use a very similar process to embed the posts in the ground. The only difference is that you only embed the bottom of the square post in the ground. This base part has four sides and is a little bit bigger in circumference than the rest of the post. This makes it easy to slide the post in and out of the base in the event that you have to change the sign.

Anyone have any advice on building a fence and digging post holes?
I'm going to do this myself for the first time. I'm doing all the hard work such as digging post holes by hand. I've checked out a few books from the library that are really helpful but does anyone have any advice or know any great online resources I can use for help? I understand that getting the post holes right is the main concern when building a fence. I plan on taking my time with this project.
Questions I have at this point:
How far from the house do I dig the post holes?
How do I deal with a slight slope in my yard?(It goes up about a foot or two in the back right corner and then comes back down in the back left corner.
Any advice on the gate portion of the fence?
How long do I wait before treating the wood? I do plan on buying pre-treated wood but I would like to treat it again.
1) CHECK with your locality's code office about fences. Usually, side fences can be set on property line, back fences on property lines, front fences will have a setback requirement.
2) IF this is a big fence, strongly suggest going to rental center and renting a power Post Hole Digger....it will take 2 people to use it, but it makes short work of digging the holes....allow one afternoon to dig about 30 -40 holes.
3) Place holes at 8' centers! I prefer a 10" diameter hole...I want my fence to be very sturdy in the event of high wind. Dig holes at least 24" deep, 30" if in area of hard freezes...you do not want the posts coming out of the ground in freeze/thaw conditions.
4) Use Pressure Treated Post, CCA .4 DO NOT use further treatment...not necessary, these posts are good for at least 40 years underground...do not go for overkill...waste of money and time. Now, set posts into holes. Make sure you have at least 4" taller than the fence will be height wise. Use premixed concrete in bags, pour into hole dry. Fill hole to about 2" from top of soil. Use an accurate level, and plumb posts in both directions! "Water" the posts profusely to saturate the dry mix concrete. Make sure, after watering, the posts are still plumb. Allow to harden for one week, each day, saturate the ground around the post hole with water. AFter one week, the posts are ready to use.
5) USE Pressure treated 2X4's for the stringers...one at top, one at bottom, one in middle. Probably better to set 2X4's on 'edge' to prevent sag. Screw or nail into posts after trimming. These are the fence stringers. The stringers will follow the 'lay of the land..up, down, depending upon the grade. You cannot make a level fence around property unless the differences in grade are very minor. Hills, slopes, etc...follow the grade between the posts..there will be a happy medium to follow...your eye will tell you what to do.
6) After all the stringers are in place, apply fence boards, either inside or outside the stringers. IF you are a nice neighbor, the stringers will be inside. Set fence boards PLUMB...start with the first board, use a Level and screw in place...proceed about the fence, keep boards tight! (wood will shrink as it weathers, the seams will open some if you are in a dry area. IF the wood is really dry and you live in a high humidity area, be careful here..."age the fence boards" by leaving them exposed to the are for at least 1-2 weeks...they will swell to meet the moisture in the air. You will loose a few to warping, but considering the consequences of a too tight set in wetter area, this is a small loss. Try to keep fence tight, each board plumb, remove as much warp as you can as you go around the fence. USE SCREWS (deck screws, not regular screws). Nails will 'pop' over time, so do not use them!
Now, trim each post to about 3-4" higher than fence, cap each post with a metal or wood finial to make the fence sparkel. Stain with a wood sealant. Unstained wood will turn gray in a short time, but it will not turn gray evenly...A cedar tone is a good color. OR you can paint it if you like, just know that you will be painting for ever more if you apply one coat...paint does not hold up well on fences. Use either Cedar or PT lumber for the fencing...I prefer cedar, but redwood (expensive) can be used, not a great advantage over cedar..cedar will not rot above ground. Redwood available today is NOT what it used to be. IT is very soft, does rot in time.

How To Use A Concrete Cut Off Saw With A Diamond Blade
Have you considered buying a concrete cut off saw but weren't sure about everything that is used for cutting concrete. Concrete will be cut quite effortlessly if you take your time as well as possessing the proper piece of equipment.
A concrete cut off saw is very powerful and can be used for cutting directly into various kinds of cement, asphalt and other things. A diamond multi-purpose blade is a very tough blade which enables it to cut a number of different varieties of concrete. This blade is used on major cutting tasks when needing to do a lot of deep cuts.
While cutting concrete with a cutoff saw it is recommended to only cut 2" deep each pass. So if you might be having to cut 4" deep then you will need to render two passes on the cut when making the complete cut. By trying to cut much deeper than this you can harm the saw or the blade by simply causing it to become fragile. You can see if this has been done as your blade will take on a blue shade and will contain tiny cracks in it.
A handheld concrete cut off saw is perfect, due to its' light weight style, allowing it to cut into walls or over head. You have to be cautious of kickback when cutting out concrete and always keep both hands tightly on the machine. Kickback can happen as a result of attempting to cut much too deep as well as when you strike any reinforcement just like rebar. As a result you need to know what you will be cutting into before getting started.
These were some suggestions for using a concrete saw along with a diamond blade to cut down into concrete. You should wear basic safety equipment and to maintain regular maintenance on your concrete cutoff saw.
If you purchase any concrete cutoff saw you better understand how to maintain one before you first put gas in it. Will it be two cycle or four cycle? What mix proportion of gas to oil will I use?
Save yourself some money and don't damage your cylinder by finding out what you need to do in order to maintain the saw.

I believe that I would do all of the marketing and selling, but that a distributor would have to actually sell the whiskey. Do I need a distributor in every state I sell in? The Application of Dimmable LED Spots and Bulbs
Among the issues of Led Lights dimmability is one of the latest challenges still yet to be fully solved. Dimming LEDs is theoretically easy, because analogue dimming, that is the adjustment of current, has long been an option. However, this method only works safely when used with one Led Bulb. Systems of LEDs require a more sophisticated method of dimming. The two basic forms of dimming are the PWM or Pulse-Width-Modulation and the analogue dimming, both of which are switched-mode regulators. These two types are similar in the sense that they both control the time-averaged current through the diode.
Analogue dimming is a very simple way of dimming, it is the adjustment of cycle-by-cycle of the LED current regulated with a potentiometer. The current is adjusted to the LED increasing and decreasing its intensity.
The disadvantage of analogue dimming is that it only works safe as long as we dim a Single Light bulb. Systems of LED lights require a more refined technique. The difficulty of dimming a system of LED lights is that there are many types of LEDs, requiring different methods for dimming. If there is a system of lights we would like to dim, the various LEDs may react diversely to the same amount of current, and as the current is reduced some LEDs can turn off later or sooner than others. Also, analogue dimming largely changes the colour of the light, similarly to when it is used with incandescent lights.
The most frequently used technique of dimming LEDs is Pulse-Width Modulation, which is basically the cutting of the phase at a certain frequency. PWM switches the devices between fully on and fully off at a frequency that cannot be told by the human eye, therefore LED bulbs always run on the forward current recommended. The frequency of switching determines the brightness of light, so the longer the lights are "on" the brighter the light will be. This is the same technique used in incandescent light dimmers as well, except that incandescent lights react to current more slowly, and therefore require a different frequency.
Two types of Pulse-With Modulation signals are used often with dimming light: the leading-edge and the trailing edge techniques. These two are different ways of cutting the phase, and result in separate dimming technologies. The most frequently used dimmers of LEDs use solely the leading-edge technology. Dimmers marked as R or RL are suitable for most dimmable LEDs, since they work with the leading edge technology and do not include electronic transformers. TRIAC drivers, or devices governed by the DMX and digital addressable lighting interface (DALI) protocols and, in the future, may include wireless (RF) as a control option, that is dimmers that turn or slide with a knob, all work with dimmable LEDs.
Alas leading edge technologies controlled with a touch or push button, are often powered by an electric transformer, excluding many dimmable LEDs.
The other type of phase-cutting technique is trailing edge technique, usually used in MOSFET or is not suitable for the majority of dimmable LEDs. One of the latest inventions appearing on the market is the RAIS lamp technology. RAIS lamps offer a higher degree of functionality and seem to work with all types of dimmers available on the market. However RAIS technology is still new, and its long-term effect on LEDs have not been fully tested. If they prove to be trustworthy their application both domestically and commercially, can turn out to be much safer and easier than previous dimmable LED lights'.
In the ever-evolving technologies of LED lights, dimmable LEDs are still to be developed to further compatibility and better performance. Since there is no general rule for what dimmer your LED might be suitable for, always check the technical details with the distributor. Application of LED lights with non-compatible dimmers might ruin the LEDs, and they are, at the moment, not the cheapest solution of lighting.

Help with Samsung LED LCD 8 series and using RCA cables!?
I am trying to hook up my Comcast non HD box too my new LED TV and i think it only has the component Red White orange blue and green cords. but the green cord in spot is highlighted yellow to use rca cables? and this is how i want to hook my comcast box up till i get the new box? is there something in settings i am missing? please help!
Instead of the red and white audio cable you should use the optical cable for digital and surround sound, otherwise you get stereo audio only. Hope this will help you out.

Motion sensor wall mounted outdoor lights?
The other night I was driving through a neighborhood and on several of the houses I noticed the lights that are mounted on the house (on either side of the garage door) were somewhat dim, then when I drove past the lights got bright. Is that a special kind of light or just a sensor that you add to an existing light? And where can I buy that?
They're just regular motion sensing lights. Mine do the same thing. If the sensor is pointed towards the street and picks up passing cars, it activates the lights.
Just about all hardware stores and home improvement centers carry them.
Edit: Many of the nicer (ie, more expensive lights) have a power saving feature, where the lights burn at reduced wattage until activated by motion. Sort of a night light feature. That's what you saw.
